An Octave-Bandwidth Kerr Optical Frequency Comb on a Silicon Chip

Abstract

We demonstrate an octave-span Kerr frequency comb with 1 THz mode spacing based on a silicon-nitride microring. We report measurements of the comb’s frequency noise properties and evidence for operation in the low-noise, cavity-soliton regime.
