Abstract

We have optically compared two fiber-based frequency combs with ultra-high stability. The resulting beat frequency shows integrated phase noise below 100 mrad (100Hz to 2MHz) and an overlapping Allan deviation of 1×10−16 at 1s, dropping below 1×10−18 at 500s.
