Impact of Temperature on Spatial Hole Burning and Modulation Bandwidth of Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers

Abstract

At high temperature, RSOA display negligible spatial hole burning which limits their modulation bandwidth. Still, we demonstrate direct modulation at 60°C up to 10 Gbit/s and 5 Gbit/s for C- and O- band RSOA.
