Wake Mode Sidebands and Instability in Comb Lasers with Slow Saturable Absorbers

Abstract

We computationally study wake modes in a fiber comb laser with a slow saturable absorber. We show that these modes will lead to the experimentally-observed sidebands, and we predict the laser’s stable operating regime.
