Abstract

We successfully generate, transmit and demodulate a pulse amplitude modulation combined phase modulation (PAM-PM) signal utilizing laser frequency chirp. Under the same spectral efficiency, the OSNR improvement of ~3-dB is achieved over the conventional scheme.
