Pulse-train pumping for efficient narrowband terahertz generation in periodically poled lithium niobate

Abstract

We demonstrate efficient terahertz generation in periodically poled lithium niobate pumped by optical pulse-trains. By tuning the pulse separation, we superposed the generated terahertz of each pulse coherently and enhance the peak-field of the terahertz.
