Non-thermal ablation and deposition of graphite induced by ultrashort pulsed laser radiation

Abstract

We observe a modulation of the non-thermal ablation threshold of graphite in dependence on the applied pulse duration below 2 ps. Our results indicate lattice motions to play a major role in the non-thermal ablation process.
