AlGaAs guided-wave optical parametric oscillator: results and perspectives

Abstract

We demonstrate the first near-infrared optical parametric oscillator in a semiconductor waveguide. With an AlGaAs/AlOx heterostructure placed in a 2 µm-centered doubly-resonant monolithic cavity, we reach the threshold at 210 mW in the CW regime.
