High-Power Few-Cycle Pulse Generation by Spectral Broadening in Bulk Material

Abstract

The first 10-W, 10-fs amplification-free laser is presented. Bulk spectral broadening is utilized to reach the pulse duration of less than three optical cycles. Spectral homogeneity and good quality of the laser beam are demonstrated.
