Fast and Slow Optical Modulation of Refractive Index in a SiN Microring

Abstract

We retrieve the thermal dissipation time of τθ=0.25μs and investigate the power dependent absorption in a SiN microring resonator. We estimate n2 =4.3×10−19m2/W based on clear 1 GHz optical modulation of the refractive index.
