Abstract

Glass-clad Cr4+:YSO crystal fibers were grown using the laser-heated pedestal growth method. Quasi-3-level behavior of the Cr4+:YSO was observed, and the emission was red shifted to 1302 nm with a 3-dB bandwidth of 230 nm.
