Modified CMA Based Blind Carrier-Phase Estimation for 16-QAM Homodyne Digital Coherent Optical Receivers

Abstract

We propose modified CMA based blind carrier-phase-estimation methods for 16-QAM homodyne digital coherent optical receivers. Through computer simulation we found proposed scheme has less hardware requirements and comparable performance to decision-directed carrier-recovery algorithms.
