Abstract

In this paper, a novel immersion type birefringent transducer is proposed for optically measuring angular displacement based on a heterodyne interferometry. As a result, a resolution of 2.85×10−5 deg with a dynamic range of over 5deg has been achieved by utilizing a KTP plate immersed in a glycerin solution.
