First sub-25fs PetaWatt laser system

Abstract

We describe a Titanium:Sapphire based PetaWatt laser providing an unprecedented pulse width of 23.7 fs at a repetition rate of 0.1 Hz. Energy and pulse duration measurements demonstrate a potential peak power of 1.12 PW.
