Enhanced Bandwidth Generation in an Er Amplifier Similariton Fiber Laser

Abstract

The addition of a passive nonlinear segment to a similariton laser allows the bandwidth to be enhanced significantly. Numerical and experimental results for an Er fiber laser are presented.
