Femtosecond Laser-Written Couplers in Fused Silica Fiber: Towards Fiber Cladding Optical Circuits

Abstract

Various means for coupling light from fiber core waveguide is examined to enable integration with fiber cladding optical circuits written by oil-immersion with femtosecond lasers. Coreless optical fiber and in-fiber Mach Zehnder interferometers are introduced.
