Complementary Apodized Grating Waveguides for Tunable Photonic Delay Lines

Abstract

A novel class of tunable integrated photonic delay lines that compromises between loss and size is proposed. The devices comprise cascaded apodized grating waveguides with complementary (positively and negatively modulated) refractive index profiles.
