Abstract

We demonstrate that the magnitude of the wavelength variation (dispersion) of waveguide directional couplers considerably exceeds the modal refractive index dispersion of typical single-mode silicon nanophotonic waveguides, and investigate approaches to achieve wavelength-flattened filtering response.
