Stimulated Brillouin scattering in specialty optical fibers: importance of material, structure and manufacturing parameters

Abstract

The influence of material doping profile and geometrical structure on Brillouin gain characteristics has been investigated. Based on a FEM modeling, importance of internal residual stress induced by fiber drawing conditions is also pointed out.
