Signatures of sub-Poissonian noise in the carrier-envelope phase jitter of highly stabilized mode-locked lasers

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate that the carrier-envelope-frequency noise of stabilized mode-locked lasers can be a up to a factor 30 below the noise that should arise already from shot-noise-level fluctuations of its pump laser.
