Engineered nonlinear optical structures based on metal nanocomposite photonic crystals

Abstract

We demonstrate a three-fold increase in the nonlinear optical absorption of an engineered metal- nanocomposite based photonic crystal as compared to a single metal-nanocomposite film of comparable thickness using Z-scan measurements.
