Efficient Photoconductive Terahertz Generation Using a Radio Frequency Bias

Abstract

An efficient photoconductive THz source is described that uses a rapidly oscillating, high voltage bias across electrodes insulated from the GaAs sample. The resulting uniform field enables excitation with a large laser spot.
