Optical Comb and Pulse Generation from CW light

Abstract

Recent progress in compact optical comb/pulse sources is reviewed, mainly focusing on electro-optic synthesizing methods from a CW light. The features, applications, challenges are discussed comparing with other technologies like mode-locked lasers.
