High-Bandwidth, Spatially Resolved Thermometry in Reacting Flows Using Femtosecond-CARS Line Imaging

Abstract

Spatially resolved thermometry at speeds up to 1000 Hz is demonstrated using 1-D femtosecond CARS. Such measurements can provide invaluable data for validating turbulent combustion models as well as addressing spatio-temporal instabilities.
