High-order actively mode-locked picosecond fiber laser and Poisson single-photon source

Abstract

We demonstrate the 200th-order actively mode-locked picosecond fiber laser based on nonlinear polarization rotation in a semiconductor optical amplifier with GHz repetition frequency and 1.63-ps pulse width, which produces a Poisson single-photon source.
