Abstract

We investigate spectrally selective high temperature stable metamaterial emitters for thermophotovoltaics. We demonstrate band-edge emitters based on a W-HfO2 multilayer metamaterial stable up to 1400°C. Conditions for improved selectivity and thermal stability are discussed.
