Quantum Radiation from Electrons in Strong Fields

Abstract

We present a mechanism for generating ultrashort high-harmonic radiation pulses in electron microscopes. At the core of this mechanism are transitions between electronic Floquet states formed in the strong nearfield of a nanophotonic structure.
