Detection of Orbital Angular Momentum Superposition States in Optical Vortices

Abstract

Orbital angular momentum (OAM) transfer through nonlinear processes such as coherent Raman generation often distorts the original spatial mode of light, resulting in OAM superposition states. We characterize such modes and quantify their distortion by astigmatic focusing of the laser beam.
