Optical Gain Characteristics of Pb/Bi Co-doped Silica-based Optical Fiber

Abstract

A novel Pb/Bi co-doped fiber has been fabricated. Its On/off gain without ASE is 12 dB at 1110 nm and 3dB bandwidth is 180 nm by 0.2 m fiber, which indicates it is a promising active material.
