Abstract

Plasmonic TiN decorated TiO2 nanowires support 4 times larger generation of over-barrier hot electrons than the Au/TiO2 system resulting in an enhanced photoelectrochemical water splitting activity due to TiN broader plasmonic resonance and improved interface properties.
