Alkali Vapors in Mid-Infrared – Towards Gain

Not Accessible

Abstract

We measured direct influence of a mid-infrared laser at 5.23 µm on the 5D5/2-6P3/2 transition of rubidium (85Rb) pumped by two photons at 780 nm and 776 nm. The hyperfine structure of the 6P3/2 level is clearly identified.
