Mid-IR, CO2-Laser driven, Self-Modulated Wakes

Abstract

We report a study of self-modulated laser plasma wakefields, at densities down to ~5×1017cm−3, driven by the mid IR (λ=10.6μm), 4ps long, 2-Joule laser pulses from the BNL/ATF CO2 laser.
