Variable Emissivity Coatings Based on Plasmonic Metasurfaces Integrated with Phase-Transition Materials

Abstract

Modulation of emissivity in the mid-infrared is experimentally realized using thin-film phase-transition material SmNiO3. Designs of variable emissivity coatings based on metasurfaces integrated with SmNiO3 are also reported.
