Mid-infrared octave-spanning frequency comb generation in a suspended germanium-membrane ridge waveguide

Abstract

We propose generation of 2.5 octave-spanning frequency combs in a suspended germanium-membrane ridge waveguide. The spectral range extends deep into the mid-infrared "fingerprint" region up to 12 m, which cannot be realized using silicon-based waveguides.
