Observation of Bloch oscillations with a threshold

Abstract

We predict and demonstrate experimentally a metal-insulator phase transition from extended wave transport to localized Bloch oscillations at a critical effective potential strength in photonic lattices, which realize optical emulator of quantum photon squeezing.
