Fiber-Based Cavities for Ion-Trap Quantum Networks

Abstract

Fiber-based cavities offer a promising route toward the strong coupling regime of cavity QED. I will discuss the development of a fiber-cavity experiment for single trapped calcium ions, focusing on mirror characterization and quantum-network prospects.
