Quantum Optics for studying ultrafast processes in condensed matter

Abstract

Quantum state reconstruction techniques are used to address non equilibrium matter states. Proof of principle experiments reveal that few photons coherent pulses can be squeezed by the interaction with impulsively excited coherent phonons in quartz.
