Hot-Electron Plasmonics: Quantum Transport Limitations

Abstract

Hot-electron plasmonics has created much excitement for solar-energy harvesting. However, experimental quantum efficiencies are too low for practical applications. Here, we develop a bottom-up quantum-transport model and introduce design parameters to achieve high efficiency solar-cells.
