Generalized three-dimensional Dirac points and Z2 gapless surface states in a topological photonic crystal

Abstract

We discover robust three-dimensional generalized Dirac points – linear four-fold point degeneracies – in a non-symmorphic photonic crystal realizable at near-infrared wavelengths. The surface states exhibit gapless line-nodes characterized by a Z2 topological invariant.
