Few-photon Nonlinear Optics Using Interacting Rydberg Atoms

Abstract

Mapping the interaction between Rydberg excitations onto photons enables the realization of optical nonlinearities on the single-photon level. We present a single-photon transistor, where one gate photon controls the transmission of many source photons.
