Electron energy-loss spectroscopy of surface plasmon modes in silver nanowires: reconciling experiment and theory

Abstract

Spectral shifts due to the excitation of higher-order modes occurred when an electric beam is directed near the silver nanowires. Three different theoretical approaches predict the main features of the observed spectra very well.
