Experimental Observation of Light Induced Conical Intersections in a Diatomic Molecule

Abstract

We observe quantum interferences in the angular distributions of H2+ photodissociation arising from the geometric singularity induced by strong laser fields. This is the first experimental observation of light induced conical intersections in diatomic molecules.
