Terahertz Pulse-Induced Higgs Mode in a BCS Superconductor Nb0.8Ti0.2N Film

Abstract

By using an intense monocycle-like THz pulse, we observed the Higgs amplitude mode in a BCS superconductor Nb0.8Ti0.2N film. A clear oscillation of the BCS gap energy was identified in the transmittance of the THz probe beam.
