Abstract

We experimentally investigate the nonlinear response of an ultracompact silicon-on-insulator Fabry-Pérot resonator. Two-photon absorption, free-carrier absorption, and the thermo-optic effect act to red-shift the device resonance by 7.57nm and attenuate its amplitude by 66%.
