Abstract
The extreme material properties of diamond make it an attractive candidate for many technological applications. However, these same material properties often prove disruptive to the machining of diamond into functional devices. Ultrashort laser pulses focused inside diamond offer a potential new route for the functionalisation of diamond, offering a range of fabrication modalities on a single platform.
