Abstract

Output power of CW fiber lasers has already reached 100 kW level. One of the main factors that limits further power scaling is active fiber heating, which is mainly conditioned by the difference between energies of pump and generated photons. The active medium heating significantly affects the generation efficiency and leads to thermal degradation of fibers. Therefore, various methods of active fiber temperature measurement are developed nowadays
