Abstract
Compression of ~1ps pulses by frequency up-conversion in nonlinear optical crystal cut for type II phase matching is a well established method, if one desires intense, sub-ps up-converted pulses. For efficient compression of 1 μm light, time predelay must be introduced between the ordinary and extraordinary input pulses and group velocity of generated second harmonic pulses must be in between the group velocities of fundamental pulses and [1].
