Abstract
Ultra-broadband tunable fiber lasers are of significant interest due to its application diversity in optical communication, fiber sensors, spectroscopy and laser pump source. Recently, a random distributed feedback fiber laser operating via Raman gain and random feedback owing to the Rayleigh backscattering is demonstrated [1]. Raman gain is wavelength agile across the transparency window of optical fibers (300 nm to 2300 nm for silica fiber) with the right pump source and the Rayleigh scattering is wavelength-independent. So the cascaded Raman random fiber laser could be an interesting method to achieve ultra-broadband tunable fiber laser.
