Abstract
Networks of optical waveguide resonators on a chip are of paramount interest for large variety of photonic applications. Examples are slowing of light for optical communications [1], spectral control of hybrid lasers [2], or optical filters with ultra-high spectral resolution [3]. The major challenge in realizing large optical delays and steep spectral features is imposed by waveguide losses and fabrication errors. These make it difficult to provide many roundtrips in long resonator lengths and to couple an increasingly large number of resonators with precisely defined coupling strengths and with precisely defined relative detuning of their resonance frequencies.
