Abstract
Generation of high-quality UV beams in optical fiber is of interest for a range of applications. Four-wave mixing offers a good alternative to second-harmonic generation for frequency conversion of commercially available pumps (532 nm microchip lasers for instance); however, even if some paths have been established in recent years to generate UV light in higher order modes (HOM) [1–2], no clear path had yet been identified to generate UV light in the fundamental mode of an optical fiber.
